Banksia integrifolia

Coastal banksia is a vigorous erect shrub or large tree sparsely to moderately branched. The tough leathery leaves are mid-green above and silvery-white underneath. Cylindrical, pale-yellow flower cones up to 12cm long are freely produced from summer to autumn. Will grow in any soil conditions from front-line coastal to deep clay loams.

Melia azedarach

A semi-evergreen drought tolerant tree with broadly disected pinnate foliage resembling a Jacaranda tree. It is fast growing forming a rounded canopy within a few years. Producing a profusion of star-shaped, fragrant lilac coloured flowers from spring to early summer followed by small yellow berries. The tree pictured is less than 12 months old !
