Aster ericoides, the Heath Aster, is an adaptable drought tolerant perennial which smothers itself in small white daisy-like flowers from mid-Summer through Autumn. The foliage can look prickly but is in fact quite soft to touch. Growing to around 70cm high and around 1 metre across it combines well with naturalistic planting designs. It will do very well in poor, sandy soils as well as heavy clay loams. Butterfly attracting and easy to grow. It is pretty much pest and disease resistant. Cut old growth to the ground in late-Winter or early-Spring.
