Aster oblongifolius is a bushy, densely branched globe shaped plant that forms small colonies from underground rhizomes. The aromatic leaves are a soft grey-green and emit a sweet scent when crushed. In early autumn the foliage is covered by good sized lavender daisies which bloom profusely until late Autumn, early Winter. The flowers are larger than other asters. This robust plant is tough and adaptable thriving in sun and drought conditions. It will grow to around 90cm tall and as much across given time. Cut old foliage to the ground in late-Winter or early-Spring.
