Salvia verticillata is a perennial sage so its not inclined to grow into a woody shrub. In Spring, new foliage emerges from its Winter dormant root stock. Beautiful, felt-like silver foliage is topped with violet coloured flower spires from late Spring and throughout Summer. A drought tolerant beauty it looks great as a mass planting and combines really well in a naturalistic planting design. Clumps grow to around 60 to 70cm across. The flower spikes reach to 60cm high.
